Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. Tomoni has no accounts. Sync and sharing go through your own iCloud.
How does sync between my devices work?
Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple Account and turn on Settings › iCloud Sync in Tomoni. On a new iPhone, install Tomoni, sign in with the same Apple Account and your data comes back.
How do I invite my partner or friends?
Open the Space tab, tap Invite and send the link by Messages, LINE or anything else. They need Tomoni on their own iPhone, signed in to iCloud. If the link doesn't open inside a chat app, open it in Safari.
Does the other person need to buy Tomoni too?
Everyone needs Tomoni on their own iPhone. Tomoni supports Family Sharing, so members of your Family Sharing group can download it at no extra cost.
How fast do their changes show up?
Usually within a few minutes, and right away when you open Tomoni. Hearts and moods travel through iCloud too; it isn't a live chat.
Is the first day Day 1 or Day 0?
Your choice. Chinese, Japanese and Korean users usually count the first day as Day 1 (D+1); in English, "0 days together" is common. You can switch per date, and Tomoni shows where day 100 lands as you switch. Anniversaries always follow the calendar date, so day 365 and your 1st anniversary are listed separately.
How do lunar birthdays work?
Choose the lunar calendar when adding a date, Chinese or Korean (they occasionally differ by a day). If a birthday falls in a leap month that doesn't exist that year, Tomoni uses the same day of the regular month by default, or you can skip it.
How do I export my data?
Go to Space › Export to create JSON (a zip with photos), CSV, a calendar file (.ics) you can import elsewhere, or a PDF memory book.
How do I leave a space or delete my data?
Leave from the Space tab; nobody is notified. You can keep a private archive or remove the space from this iPhone. To delete data from iCloud, go to iOS Settings › Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Storage.
My widget isn't updating.
Open Tomoni once so the widget gets the latest count and photos. If it still doesn't change, long-press the widget, choose Edit Widget and pick the space again.
